CHP has agreed to recruit for an Accounting Manager and as it will likely take at least 2 months to fill the position I have decided to return to Canada. My last day was February 28 and this is my last blog posting.  I have provided recommendations on accounting and financial management policies, setting up a new computerized general ledger system and a chart of accounts. I very much hope that CHP will implement the recommendations and I look forward to continuing to support them in any way I can. I am grateful for their co-operation and warm hospitality as well as for the support provided by VSO and AfID. CHP has great potential and I wish Tauhid and the team every success in their future endeavours.

Today is international mother language day, honoring those who died following West Pakistan's (as it was then) attempt to impose Urdu on the population of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). A huge celebration with crowds so deep that we had to give up trying to get to the monument where people had been putting millions of flowers since midnight.
